Wut the #? Microsoft fail (Part i-dont-know)

Overheard:

Question: "You apply a Server, Domain Controller and Client security policy requiring all network traffic to be encrypted. Some of your users report that they cannot log in or access network resources. What is the easiest way to resolve the problem?"

Answer: "Tell the user to reboot the computer."

This means, essentially, implicitly, that the policy that *all* network traffic should be encrypted, doesn't apply to *all* traffic ('cause clients can get their updated configuration without being compliant to the new configuration). *sigh* :/

- The program loaded in memory is the old copy
- You have to spawn a new process, which would be the updated copy
- In the case of desktop apps (browser, email) restarting the app is all you need
- In the case of servers (apache, postfix) restarting the service is required
- In the case of a GNOME or KDE main component, you should restart the whole desktop env (i.e. log off)
- In the case of kernel and glibc you have to restart your machine, installing a new kernel does not magically puts it into memory cisco ccna
